The Pioneer soccer team fell 2-1 (boxscore) to the Willamette Bearcats Saturday afternoon in Salem. Freshman Aly Robinson scored her first goal as a Pioneer.

After a scoreless first half, the Pioneers garnered the first goal of the game fifteen minutes into the second period when Aly Robinson (freshman, Cumberland, Maine) took a shot from 25 yards out. The shot was partially saved, but into the top of the net, giving Robinson the goal. Sarah Kieffer (senior, Jacksonville, Ore.) was credited with the assist.

Ten minutes later, Willamette's Lauren Miller tied the score with a shot from ten-yards out. The Bearcats Miller broke the tie with under five minutes remaining, getting a header into the middle of the net after a cross from the Bearcat's Meghan Anderson.

With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 1-6-1 (1-5-0 NWC). Willamette earns their second win of the season and their first in Conference play.

The Pioneers are in Eastern Washington next weekend, taking on Whitworth Friday afternoon and Whitman on Sunday afternoon.
