20 Burning Questions With Elise Delgado

PALATINE HILL - Elise Delgado is one of 12 new freshmen on the Pioneer women’s soccer team this season. Elise has proven that she is clearly not intimidated by the intensity of college soccer, posting three consecutive shutouts in her first three matches.

Elise is from Sacramento, California, and did not begin playing soccer competitively until her freshman year of high school at Christian Brother’s High School. She began as a forward, but it didn’t take long until she realized her talent was behind the net. Elise plans on being a Sociology/Anthropology major, but like many freshmen here at L&C, wants to dabble in many academic areas.

Elise recently sat down with Sports Information Assistant Natalie Stratton to discuss how she ended up on The Hill among other things.

Nat: What made you want to come to L&C?
Elise: My very good friend was looking at L&C and we tend to like the same things so I began looking into it. When Coach Steve [Golas] contacted me, I just couldn’t pass it up.

Nat: So what are your plans after college?
Elise: I don’t really know yet, but I want to do something that serves other people.

Nat: I know you’ve played forward, but if you could play another position on the field, what would it be?
Elise: Center Back (stopper)

Nat: Now, the L&C community wants to get to know the real Elise, so don’t be shy with my next questions.
