PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's soccer continued Northwest Conference play with a 1-0 victory over Pacific (Ore.) at Griswold Stadium Sunday afternoon.

The win puts the Pioneers at 9-5-1 on the season and 6-4-1 in league while the Boxers slip to 7-5-2 overall and 4-5-1 in the NWC.

Sophomore Marissa Sandgren's goal less than two minutes into the game proved to be the game-winning goal for L&C.  Sophomore Grace Mehlhaff crossed the ball over the top to Sandgren who put the ball into the back of the net from just inside the 18-yard box.

Neither team was able to find the goal again as Pacific (Ore.) outshot Lewis & Clark 16-14 on the day.  Junior goalkeeper Geena Fong kept them scoreless with seven saves and picked up her second consecutive shutout and her third of the season.

Lewis & Clark travels to Pacific Lutheran on Sunday, Oct. 17, for a 12:00 PM game.
