PORTLAND, Ore. - Megan Ratfield and Anna Thorndike led the Lewis & Clark women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over #19 Linfield in Northwest Conference play at Griswold Stadium. The Pioneers avenged a 5-0 loss to the Wildcats earlier in the season and with the win the Pioneers tie the school record since women's soccer was reinstated by the school in 2004 for most conference wins in a season with seven which was previously set in 2012.

The Pioneers move to 10-8-1 overall and 7-7-1 in the Northwest Conference.  Linfield falls to 15-3-1 overall and 11-3-1 in league.

In the first half sophomore Megan Ratfield scored her first goal of the season to give Lewis & Clark a 1-0 lead. In the 36th minute she was able to chip the ball over the defense into an empty goal from 40 yards out.

Linfield knotted the game at one in the 67th minute when Molly McCool was able to split the defense and fire a shot from 15 yards out.  Lewis & Clark sophomore Anna Thorndike provided the game winner less than 10 minutes later when she was able to split two Wildcat defenders and beat the keeper right to give Lewis & Clark the 2-1 victory.

Linfield outshot the Pioneers 19-5 but junior goalkeeper Geena Fong made some big saves down the stretch to hold the Wildcats to one goal.  Fong ended the game with seven saves.

Lewis & Clark conclude its season on Saturday, Nov. 9, with a game against NWC foe University of Puget Sound at 11am.  The Pioneers will have a ceremony before the game to honor its three seniors, Natalie Levy, Emilia Emmetti, and Sarah Breninger
