Women’s Soccer Places Five on All-NWC Team; Fikso Named to First Team

FOREST GROVE, Ore. – Lewis & Clark freshman defender Isobel Fikso was named to the Northwest Conference All-Conference First-Team, while teammate Emily Thompson was named to the Second-Team as announced by the league office on Thursday.  Also receiving recognition were Anna Thorndike, Natalie Levy, and Geena Fong, who all made the Honorable Mention list.  

Fikso started every game on defense this season for the Pioneers, earning two goals and one assist on the year.  The Pioneer freshman ended the season ranked first in shot percentage and 14th in game winning goals.  

Thompson, a sophomore forward, also started every game for L&C and finished second on the team in goals scored with seven (seventh in the NWC).  She was fifth in league for shots taken and 12th for game winning goals.  

Thorndike ended the year with a team-leading nine goals, good enough for fourth in the Northwest Conference.  She finished second in shots with 77 and fourth in game-winning goals.  Thorndike was named Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week for the week of September 16-22 after scorning two game-winning goals.  

Levy finished the year with four goals, fourth best on the team, while playing predominantly as a midfielder for the Pioneers.

Fong recorded 99 saves which was third best in the NWC.  She started every game in goal for the Pioneers and lead the league in minutes in goal with over 1500 minutes played.  She ended the season with 10 wins, tied for most in league.
