PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's tennis team continued its stellar start to the season, earning a dominating 9-0 win over the Pacific Lutheran Lutes in Northwest Conference action.
The Pioneers top four singles players, Aurora Garrison, Olivia Cornell, Claudia Lew and Gillian Lowe, all took down their opponents 6-0, 6-1. Olivia Sweetman earned the Pioneers their fifth point with a 6-2, 6-2 win from the No. 5 spot.
Justine Minette had a battle on her hands from the No. 6 singles spot, taking Allison McClure to three sets. Minette earned a 6-4 win in the first set before slipping 2-6 in the second. In the tiebreaker, Minette pulled out the win with a 1-0 (10-6) victory.
Garrison and Lowe teamed up in the No. 1 doubles position, taking down their competition 8-2. Cornell and Lew also earned a doubles point by the score of 8-2, while Isabelle Borris and Lissa Osepyan pulled out an 8-4 win.
The Pioneers return to the court on Friday, March 8 at 4 p.m. against Puget Sound.
