NEWBURG, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's tennis team ended the Northwest Conference season with a 9-0 win over George Fox.
The Pioneers swept through doubles with Aurora Garrison and Gillian Lowe winning from the No. 1 spot (8-2) for the 13th time this season and seventh in a row. Olivia Cornell and Claudia Lew won at the No. 2 position (8-2) to remain perfect, collecting their 15th win of the year. Izzy Borris and Lisa Osespyan picked up their 12th win of the season (8-3) from the No. 3 spot.
Lew played as the Pioneers No. 1 in singles, defeating Molly Beaumont 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (11-9). Lowe picked up a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win at the No. 2 spot, while Osepyan won 6-3, 6-1 from the No. 3 spot. Borris won her second match of the year from the No. 4 spot, taking down Shaina Inn 6-2, 6-3. Cornell took Krista Rey in three sets, winning 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-5). Makena McCluskey played her first match of the season as the Pios No. 6 player, earning a dominating 6-2, 6-1 victory.
The team returns to the court on Sunday, April 7 at 9 a.m. for a non-conference contest against Northern Colorado.
