Volleyball falls 3-0 at Concordia

The Pioneer volleyball team fell 30-23, 34-32, 30-21 at Concordia Wednesday night. Sara Kettler had ten kills for the Pioneers.
After falling 30-23 to the hard-hitting Cavaliers in the first game, the Pioneers rallied and knotted game two 27-27 on a kill by Katherine Fiedler (freshman, San Diego, Calif.). A pair of Cavalier errors put the Pioneers in the drivers seat, with the Pioneers serving on game point 29-27. A pair of Cavalier kills tied the game at 30-30. The Pioneers staved off two Cavalier game points with huge kills by Sara Kettler (senior, Dana Point, Calif.), but the Cavaliers managed to hang on an earn a 34-32 victory. In game three, the hard-hitting outside hitters for the Cavaliers really came alive, giving their team the 30-21 game victory and the three game sweep for the match win.
Sara Kettler had another strong performance, earning ten kills in 25 attacks with just one error (.360 attack percentage). Katherine Fielder continues to be a huge factor on the front row, having a hand in seven of the Pioneers' eight blocks in the match. She also had eight kills.
