Volleyball Falls to Linfield 3-1

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Linfield on Saturday night in Northwest Conference action. The Wildcats picked up a 25-21 win in the first set before the Pioneers evened the contest with a 25-22 win in the second set. The Wildcats then earned wins in the final two sets winning 25-15 and 25-20. 

The Pioneers fall to 6-13 on the season and 2-8 in conference play. The Wildcats improve to 8-10 overall and 3-7 in NWC action. 

Jennifer Dowdy led the Pioneer offense with 11 kills, while Kataleya Milan finished the night with nine. Kayla Ernewein was strong at the net for the Pioneers, finishing with a team-high four blocks. Leia Matsunaga, Alicia Callejo-Black and Brigitte Russo each finished with two blocks. 

Linfield was led by 14 kills from Kailana Ritte-Camara and nine from Kelsey Ludin. Ludin and Audrey Frazier each finished the night with a match-high five blocks. 

The Pioneers return to the court on Friday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. when they host Pacific.
