Volleyball Drops Hard Fought Battle to Pacific

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team dropped a nail-biter to Pacific, battling through five sets before falling 3-2 (16-25, 25-22, 25-20, 18-25, 12-15).

The Pioneers fall to 6-14 overall and 2-9 in Northwest Conference action. The Boxers improve to 9-10 on the season and 8-3 in NWC play.

Sophomore Kataleya Milan led the Pioneers with a match-high 18 kills on the night, finishing with a .231 attacking percentage. Brigitte Russo was the other Pioneer attacker to finish in double-digits in kills with 10. Junior Kayla Ernewein led the Pios in blocks, picking up four assisted blocks and one solo put down. Alicia Callejo-Black knocked down four blocks on the night and Russo contributed three.

Mariah McHolland and Marie Rewick paced the way for the Boxers with 16 kills each, while Alexa Block had 15. McHolland also led all players in blocks with eight.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. when they travel to take on Pacific Lutheran.
