NEWBERG, Ore. - Junior outside hitter Kataleya Milan knocked down a season-high 29 kills for the Lewis & Clark volleyball team on Saturday night as the Pioneers took on the George Fox Bruins in Northwest Conference action. Despite Milan's stellar performance, the Bruins managed to walk away with a 25-20, 16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 15-12 victory.
The Pioneers slip to 5-15 on the season and 4-10 in NWC play, while the Bruins improve to 12-10 overall and 7-7 in conference.
Milan concluded the match with a .296 attacking percentage after knocking down her match-leading 29 kills, while coming up with 11 digs. Brigitte Russo finished the night with 12 kills and Kayla Ernewein chipped in six. Kelsie Dorpat collected a season-high 51 assists for the second time this year while also earning five kills for the Pios. Alexe Navarro led the team with 29 digs, while Erinn Winstead picked up 17. Tessa Belanger led the Pioneers with five blocks and Alicia Callejo-Black blocked Bruins three times.
Erin Campbell led the Bruins with 20 kills, while teammate Karlee Jo Sampson contributed 18 and Tiffany Bruk finished with 15.
Lewis & Clark returns to the court on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. against Pacific.
