Volleyball Bids Adieu to Callejo-Black, Dorpat and Ernewein


PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team honored its three graduating seniors: Alicia Callejo-Black, Kelsie Dorpat and Kayla Ernewein prior to the start of the teams Northwest Conference match-up against #14 Pacific Lutheran. 

The Lutes earned a 3-0 win (25-19, 25-23, 25-16) to improve to 19-5 on the season and 15-1 in NWC action. The Lutes conclude the season as the NWC Champions, earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The Pioneers conclude the season 6-16 overall and 5-11 conference.

The Pioneers made things exciting in the first two sets, making the Lutes work for every point. Dorpat ended her final game as a Pioneer with a team-high 21 assists and team-high two service aces. Dorpat finishes the season ranked fifth in the conference in assists per set and 46th in the nation in the same category. Callejo-Black concluded the contest with six kills and one block, while Ernewein blocked the Lutes three times. Callejo-Black concludes the season ranked 20th in the conference in blocks per set and 20th in total blocks. Ernewein is 15th in the NWC in blocks per set and 11th in block solos.

Lucy Capron led all players with 14 kills for the Lutes, while Samantha North ended the match with 30 assists.
