Jeff Carman (junior, Elmira, Ore.) was 22nd with a 26:47.05. Karl Dickman (sophomore, Bend, Ore.) was 27th 26:56.32.
Without number two runner Tamma Carleton who was home sick, the Pioneer women recorded 12 PRs and 2 seasonal bests. The men also were missing several runners due to illness but still came away with 3 PRs and 4 seasonal bests.
"Both teams raced well today," said Head Coach Keith Woodard. "When we can get the whole team healthy and put them on the starting line we can be very competitive. Even shorthanded we closed in on the teams in front of us. I am very pleased with how everyone is racing, it should give us a boost of confidence."
