NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Lewis & Clark men's cross country team moved into the ninth spot of the west region of the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) regional poll, published Wednesday, Oct. 16th following week six of competition.
This ranking comes after the Pioneers competed in the Lewis & Clark invitational, taking second only to Northwest Conference (NWC) foe Puget Sound.
"The men's team is coming together really nicely, as they showed in their performance at the Lewis & Clark Invitational," said head coach Keith Woodard. "It's nice to be recognized in polls for all of our hard work. Our focus is being healthy and getting ready for the conference championship next week."
With their move up in the rankings, Lewis & Clark takes the spot of NWC opponent George Fox, who drops to tenth in the west region.
On the women's side, the Pioneers continue to hold their second place ranking, ahead of all NWC opponents.
Lewis & Clark runs again on Oct. 27th for the Northwest Conference Championships at 11 a.m., hosted by Pacific.
