Cross Country Earns Team and Individual Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's and women's cross country teams have once again been named to the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic list.

To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or better.

The Pioneer men were one of 216 teams to make the list with a 3.393 grade point average. The women's squad was one of 334 teams to make the list with a 3.526 GPA.

The Pioneers also had seven athletes earn individual academic honors, with Sam Smith and Jarrod Nixon representing the men's team. The Pio women placed five runners on the list including Northwest Conference Champion Emily Thomas and teammates Heather Spurling, Emily Fagan, Kaitlyn Throgmorton and Katie Keith.
