Cross Country Participates in Pre-National Invitational

HANOVER, Ind.- The Lewis & Clark men's cross country team finished 17th out of 19 and women's team placed eighth out of 18 at the Pre-National Invite in Hanover, Ind. Saturday afternoon.
The women's cross country team was led my seniors Kaitlyn Throgmorton and Melissa Newton-Mora, who finished 30th and 32nd, respectively. Throgmorton finished with a time of 23:40.17. Three seconds later Newton-Mora finished with a time of 23:43.42. Rounding out the top five Pioneer finishers were Katherine Keith (39th, 23:51.71), Ali Brauer (60th, 24:22.96), and Emily Fagan (82nd, 24:53.88).
On the men's side senior Jarrod Nixon was the first Pioneer to cross the finish time with a 37th place finish and a time of 27:06.38. Rounding out the top five Lewis & Clark finishers were Brendy Hale (40th, 27:15.01), Andrew LeDonne (97th, 28:11.29), Nicholas Ellis (126th, 28:38.20), and Marc Steiner (147th, 29:06.04).
Lewis & Clark returns home to host their home tournament on Oct. 19, at McIver Park.
