Men's & Women's Cross Country Make USTFCCCA All-Academic List; Throgmorton Earns Individual Honor
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Lewis & Clark men's and women's cross country programs were honored with spots on the United States Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III All-Academic Teams list.
The list includes 215 women's teams and 146 men's teams that earned All-Academic Team honors for the 2013 season. Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.
In total 220 unique programs were recognized, including 141 programs that had both their women's and men's teams earn the honor. The Pioneers were one of those programs.
Senior Kaitlyn Throgmorton was the only Pioneer runner to earn individual honors. Thorgmorton was one of 308 women in Division III who earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors for the 2013 cross country season. Honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.30 or greater and must have finished among the top 25 percent of finishers at their respective regional championships.
