NEW ORLEANS -- For at least the 12th-straight season, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers have had a team selected for U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Team All-Academic awards, the organization announced last week.
Since 2006-07, the Lewis & Clark women's team has made the list, achieving the honor again after a Fall 2017 team grade-point average of 3.29.
On the men's side, the Pios made the team list with a 3.39 GPA, while Jeff Mullins and Sean Richardson both earned Scholar-Athlete designation. The team earned the recognition for the ninth-straight year and 11th time in the last 12 seasons.
Lewis & Clark was one of seven Northwest Conference teams to make the men's list and with the Pioneers earned the third-best GPA in a tie with Pacific Lutheran. All nine NWC women's teams earned the honor.
Last fall, Kori Groenveld and Nicole Godbout were women's cross country student-athletes to make the Dean's List. Along with Richardson, Ryan Nguyen, George Shoemaker and Matthew White made the Dean's List for the men.
Both team GPAs are the best since the 2015-16 academic year.
