PALATINE HILL -- Saturday's Lewis & Clark Pioneers Northwest Conference basketball doubleheader with the Willamette Bearcats will begin at 5 p.m., the Lewis & Clark athletic department announced Tuesday.
The women's game will start at 5 p.m. followed by the men's contest at 7 p.m.
In addition to hosting Lewis & Clark home games, the Pamplin Sports Center is also the site of Portland State basketball games this season as PSU undergoes renovations to their facility. After hosting several PSU games, it has become clear that there is a significant disparity in the length of NCAA Division I games compared to that of Lewis & Clark's NCAA Div. III match-ups. The move to change Saturday's Lewis & Clark-Willamette doubleheader provides consistent pre-game preparation time to ensure that our student-athlete experience is not impacted. Last week's games with George Fox were also moved one hour later.
The Lewis & Clark women's basketball team lost both of their games last weekend and remains in fourth place in the NWC standings. Willamette enters the week in third place and won the first meeting between the teams, 74-65, in the NWC opener last December.
The Pioneers men's team won their second NWC game last Saturday and enters the week one game back of Willamette in the NWC standings. The Pios lost to Willamette, 64-47, in the first match-up.
