HILLSBORO, Ore. -- This last weekend in Lewis & Clark's homecoming game against Puget Sound junior Heisman Hosoda broke the school record for receptions in a game with 17. This record-breaking performance earned the wide receiver the title of Northwest Conference Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week.
Hosoda totaled 162 yards on his 17 receptions which moved him into the top five in the NWC in yards per game (73.8) and into sixth in the NWC in total receiving yards (295). Hosoda was the only player to score in the first quarter of Saturday's game against the Loggers and added another touchdown in the second quarter to put the team up 21-0.
Coming off of an All-Northwest Conference Honorable Mention selection from last year, Hosoda has totaled 27 receptions in four games and has averaged 10.9 yards per reception. He leads the team in receiving yards per game and is second on the team in touchdowns scored.
The Pioneers continue conference play this Saturday on the road against Linfield. Their next home game will be on Oct. 27 against George Fox.
