Lewis & Clark extends their win streak to three games

PORTLAND, Ore.-- The Pioneers were able to continue their win streak earning their third straight win of the season against the Portland Bible Wildcats 77-65. This was also their third straight home win.

Portland Bible had control for majority of the first half and was able to hold lead for all 20 minutes. The Pioneers were able to finish the half down 29-31 after a couple made free-throws by Nico Bricker and Andrew Vickers. Both teams had a tough time shooting in the first half with only six total 3-pointers made by both teams combined.

Kyle Owens came out firing in the second half hitting four straight 3-pointers to help take the Pioneers first lead of the game in the third minute. Owens went on this hot streak after going 1-5 in 3-point attempts in the first half. Mak Hutson had two steals along with nine points in the second half which helped the Pios hold the lead till the final buzzer to extend their win streak.

"We just have to keep coming back to work." said Hutson "To keep this momentum going into our next game we have to come back from break ready to keep going hard."

Owens was the leading scorer for the Pioneers tonight with 20 points after hitting six 3-pointers and two free-throws. Vickers was second with 17 points along with making 9-11 free-throws. Portland Bible had two players with 13 points, Cameron Jensen and William Bratcher. 

Lewis & Clark finished the game with a 35.1% 3-point percentage and 36.5% field-goal percentage. 

The Pioneers will resume their season on Dec. 27 against Claremont-M-S. Tip off will begin at 7 p.m.
