Aaron Benedetti has been on the coaching staff of the Pioneers since 2015.
Benedetti’s primary duty with the Pios is leading instruction including swing philosophy, scoring technique and on developing a positive mental approach to competition and life.
As a PGA Professional for the past 15 years, Benedetti has worked at some of the finest golf courses in the world and seen golf at its very highest level. From his time at Pebble Beach in California, on to the Oahu Country Club in Hawaii and then to Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club near Portland, he has spent time around the best players in the world and the best teachers in the game. He’s used these experiences to develop a great understanding of the golf swing and how to teach it. He uses technology (Flightscope X2) as a guide and tool for improvement, while also encouraging players to not lose the artistry and creativity required of any true golfer.
Philosophically, Benedetti believes in defining goals and stating them clearly to yourself and to your teammates, creating personal accountability to your peers. Developing a plan for improvement, or process, based upon those stated goals and working consistently towards them in a structured and meaningful way. Then, evaluating the success based upon more than just scores on a scorecard, but on our ability to achieve our goals.
Ultimately, finding a balance between academics and athletics is the key to success both on and off the course. Through this lens, Benedetti believes the Lewis & Clark coaching staff is dedicated to helping good, young student-athletes use golf as an avenue for personal improvement and collective success.
