PORTLAND, Ore. -- In their first conference match of the season the Lewis & Clark Pioneer swept the Willamette Bearcats 9-0. This is their second straight victory after yesterday's 8-1 non-conference win over Caltech.
The Pioneers swept in their doubles matches for the second day in a row going up 3-0. Coincidentally, in all three matches each Pioneer duo beat their opponents with scores of (8-2). The first duo to finish was Raed Attia with Kei Inoue followed by Jackson Powell and Pim Trouerbach. The third doubles match was with Keane Hindle and Ramez Attia.
The Pios also performed very well in their singles matches. Hindle won in two sets not giving a single point, (6-0, 6-0). Will McDermott also copied Hindle taking both sets and winning (6-0, 6-0). Marc Hayashi was able to win his match in two sets with scores of (6-3, 6-2) and Riley Vickers then defeated his opponent (6-3, 6-3). In the final two matches of the afternoon, Ramez Attia defeated his opponent (6-3, 6-3) and Brendan Adams also won (6-2, 6-1).
Lewis & Clark has a two week time period before travelling to Puget Sound on Saturday Mar. 3. The match will begin at 12 p.m.
