PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers stayed victorious on the hill today with a 9-0 win over the Willamette Bearcats. The Pioneers went undefeated in both singles and doubles today completely sweeping the Bearcats.
Ramez Attia had a clean sweep in singles against the Bearcats with a 6-0, 6-0, win. Raed Attia and Brendan Adams had closer matches in singles, but ended victorious over the Bearcats. Overall, it was a great day on the hill for men's tennis.
In singles, Adams had a battle against the Bearcats' Colin Fisher. In the first set of the match, Adams struggled to keep momentum, but he got an incredible 7-5 win. Adams then kept the momentum the rest of the game with a 6-2 win to finish the match. Raed Attia had another close match in singles after an easy win in the first set. Raed Attia struggled to finish in the second set after being down a couple games, but with an incredible comeback, Attia built huge momentum to finish with a 6-1, 7-5 win.
Also in singles, Ramez Attia came out victorious against the Bearcats, and played such a smart game. Ramez Attia worked the Bearcat so hard with strategic shots that the Bearcat struggled to find any momentum throughout the match. There was one point in the match where the Bearcat laid on the ground after an amazing pursuit that was easily returned for a point by Ramez Attia.
In doubles, the Pioneers completely dominated the Bearcats. Ryan Hayes and Riley Vickers had a clean sweep of their own over the Bearcats' Luke Hiserman and Ethan Frank. Hayes and Vickers were in control of the game the entire match, and never faltered in momentum.
