Pioneers win in a battle against Whitworth

SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers defeat the Whitworth Pirates in a 6-3 win. This makes the Pioneers continue to be undefeated in conference play with another conference match tomorrow to end the weekend for the Pioneers in Spokane, Wash. 

Raed Attia and Ramez Attia continued their win streak with a big win over the Pirates' No. 1. Although, in singles Raed had a much closer match against the Pirates' No. 1, but continued to dominate with a 7-5, 6-4 win in the end.

Key Moments

In doubles, the Pioneers established their dominance with their top two teams that took home wins. Raed and Ramez Attia had an 8-3 win over the No. 1 team for the Pirates. Brendan Adams and Will McDermott also had an 8-3 win over the Pirates' No. 2 team. 

In singles, Adams fell to the No. 2 in a close two set match that went to a tie-breaker in the second set. Unfortunately, Adams could not gain enough momentum to come back after being down a set, and Adams finished with a 3-6, 6-7, loss. Ryan Hayes also struggled with a loss in both doubles and singles. After a close first set in singles, Hayes could not make a comeback, and Hayes was beat with a 6-7, 3-6 final score. 

Ramez Attia had a great performance in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win against the Pirates' No. 3. McDermott and Vickers also had huge wins over the Pirates in singles, but their matches were a lot closer ending in three sets.
