HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Raed Attia earned his fourth straight All-Northwest Conference First-Team selection and Ramez Attia was announced as an All-NWC Second-Team pick for the Lewis & Clark Pioneers. The selections were announced by the conference office earlier Wednesday.
Raed, a senior, has competed with Ramez for doubles all season as No. 1 and has held down the No. 1 position all year in singles. Raed was ranked No. 11 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association reginal rankings and went 9-6 overall in singles with a 6-3 NWC record.
Throughout the season, Ramez competed as No. 1 in doubles with Raed and competed as No. 2 or No. 3 in singles this season. Ramez went 8-7 overall this season in singles with a NWC record of 6-3.
As a doubles team, Raed and Ramez went 11-5 overall and 9-4 in the NWC. The duo was ranked No. 15 nationally and defeated the nation's then-No. 7 pair when the Pios played Trinity in March.
The Pioneers earned the fourth seed for the upcoming Northwest Conference Championship tournament, which begins Saturday at Whitman. The Pioneers will take on the No. 1 seed Whitman at 10 a.m. on Saturday and will look to advance to their third straight NWC Championship final. George Fox is the No. 2 seed and Pacific is the No. 3 seed.
