A long time staple of the Portland coaching scene, Jim Hilsenteger returned to the coaching staff in 2013 after first coaching the Pioneers in 2011.
Hilsenteger coached the Pioneers as the varsity men's coach in 2011 and 2012 and helped engineer a conference win and runner-up finish. He’s coached at Lewis & Clark in prior years as a varsity assistant, volunteer assistant and novice men's coach. Before that, he was the junior varsity and lightweight coach at Oregon Rowing Unlimited, including coaching the winning lightweight eight at the 1999 Youth Invitational Championships.
Jim graduated from the Lewis & Clark Law School in 2005. He's a graduate of Cornell, where he was a coxswain with the lightweight crew.
