Game 1 - Lewis & Clark 3, Pacific Lutheran 2
TACOMA, Wash. -- Emily Drevdahl's eighth-inning single to right field completed a Lewis & Clark Pioneers comeback to defeat Pacific Lutheran 3-2 on Saturday at PLU Field.
Jill Pinder won the game in relief, going three innings and closing the game with a strikeout of Gracen Malich. Kalin Rooney had started the game, leaving with the lead after five innings in the circle, allowing two runs and three hits. She also had three strikeouts.
Paige Salavea and Norton had multi-hit games for the Pios.
Pacific Lutheran scored two runs in the second inning when Thalen Masada's groundout scored a run, followed by Anna Overland's single to right field.
Elli Rassbach pitched the whole game, eight innings, with seven hits and three runs to go with five strikeouts.
"It was definitely a dog fight today," said Lewis & Clark head coach Shawna Cyrus. "We were losing by two in the first game and never gave up. The theme of our day was to stay calm in all situations, and we definitely accomplished that."
Game 2 - Lewis & Clark 3, Pacific Lutheran 3 (Suspended - Top 9th inning)
Lewis & Clark will resume its game against Pacific Lutheran on Sunday at 11 a.m. The Pioneers and Lutes are tied 3-3 with Lewis & Clark coming to bat in the top of the ninth inning.
Pacific Lutheran had the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh innings with one out, but the Pios were able to get an out at the plate and a groundout to end the inning and prolong the game.
The final two games of the series will follow the conclusion of game two.
