FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- A pair of Lewis & Clark infielders were selected for the All-Northwest Conference teams, which were released on Friday by the conference office. Tiana Rosario and Katelyn Duilio were chosen to the All-NWC Second Team, the first selection for both.
Rosario, a senior from Ewa Beach, Hawaii, earned the spot after hitting .313 with eight RBI this season. She ranked third on the team in batting average and fifth in RBI. In conference games, Rosario was in the NWC's top 20 for batting average, hitting .329.
A freshman from Portland, Duilio was a .310 hitter in her inaugural season and had the second-most stolen bases on the team.
The duo were anchors for the Pioneers in the infield during the last season, with Rosario starting most games at third base and Duilio at second.
Cheyenne Fletcher of Linfield was the NWC Player of the Year, while Madi Perez and Kinsey McNaught of Whitworth were NWC Pitcher and NWC Freshman of the Year, respectively.
Despite nearly leading the conference in triples and stolen bases this season, freshman Lisa Kumasaka was not selected. She was picked as Lewis & Clark's Female Rookie of the Year at Tuesday's ELCYS awards. Junior Stephanie Garcia, who led the Pios in batting average but didn't make the minimum 2.5 plate appearances, didn't make the list either. Her .359 batting average would rank 13th in the NWC.
Lewis & Clark finished the year with eight wins in its last 10 games for a 10-18 mark in the NWC.
