PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost their final game of the weekend to the Pacific Lutheran Lutes, 10-7. Two three run rallies in the fifth and sixth innings put the Pioneers one run down on the Lutes heading into the seventh, but the Lutes answered with three of their own. Despite a leadoff home run from Frankie Warden and a single from Ana Zimmerman, the Pios couldn't generate the momentum to close the gap.
Savannah Dickson pitched seven innings, allowing 10 runs on 11 hits with one strikeout.
The Pios were unable to score anything for the first four innings but found their stride in the fifth when Braylin Jensen was walked and then scored on a single from Lily Moffit. Olivia Brackin reached on a fielder's choice, scoring on a double from Frankie Warden, who then scored on a single from Hannah Urbach.
The Pioneers had a repeat inning in the sixth, earning three runs off of one hit and two errors. Sydney Cross hit the Pioneers' first triple of the season and scored on a steal. Emily Drevdahl reached first on an error by centerfield and advanced to third, scoring Braylin Jensen. Olivia Brackin then reached first on an error by the short stop, scoring Drevdahl. Brackin got caught stealing, which ended the inning for the Pios.
The seventh inning was a big one, with the Lutes answering the two consecutive rallies with one of their own, scoring three runs off a homer from Samantha Simundson. After the Pioneers ended the inning, Frankie Warden responded with a homer of her own, sending one over the right-center fence. Unfortunately, the Pios couldn't generate the momentum to send the game into extra innings.

The Lewis & Clark Pioneers (3-4, 1-2) lost 10-4 in game three of their weekend series against Pacific Lutheran (10-4, 2-1). Despite out-hitting the Lutes 13-11, the Pios had trouble maintaining the momentum to bring runners home and allowed a lot of unearned runs because of errors. The Pios were able to score one run in the first inning off a big homer from Emily Drevdahl, but then allowed the Lutes to score six runs before answering back. Drevdahl homered again in the fifth for the lone run of the inning before Kami Merrill singled to bring in Hannah Urbach, scoring the final run of the day herself off a single from Drevdahl.
Emily Drevdahl lead the Pioneers' offense, answering the Lutes' two runs in the first inning with a big homer over the left-center fence and scoring the Pioneers' second run of the game on another homer in the fifth to right field.
Kami Merrill and Olivia Brackin also had a big day at the plate with two hits apiece. Merrill doubled in the fourth to be left on base and singled in the sixth to score Hannah Urbach, while Brackin singled in the first and the fifth.
