Lewis & Clark competes at Dempsey Open

SEATTLE -- The Lewis & Clark were able to get back to competition at Sunday's Dempsey Open after bad weather affected travel to their scheduled meet last weekend.

Competing indoors, Alaina King won her 400-meter heat with at time of 58.35. She beat racers from Hawaii, Idaho, Central Washington and Stanislaus State.

Nicole Godbout placed fifth in her 60-meter dash heat with a mark of a 8.34. Sarah Howard finished in the the same spot of her heat with a time of 8.83. Godbout also raced in the 200 meters, finishing in 26.92.

The Pios had entrants in jumps, too. Chrislyn DeMattos competed in her first competition of the year, clearing 4 feet, 6 inches in the high jump. Rachelle Locey was ninth in her flight with after posting 15 feet, 9 inches in the long jump. In the triple jump, Kara Marler finished at 31 feet, 7.25 inches. 

The Seattle Pacific Final Qualifier on Feb. 25 is the next event for the Pios.
