McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Four Lewis & Clark Pioneers competed at Saturday's Linfield Open at Maxwell Field.
Freshman Samantha Bowen had the best result of the day, finishing fourth in the 800 meters at 2:22.61, a couple seconds off her personal-best time.
Rachelle Locey and Ty Marshall both competed in the long and triple jump. Locey was ninth in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 5 inches (5.00m) and 14th in the triple jump at 32 feet (9.75m). Marshall was slightly better in the triple jump, placing 13th with a leap of 32 feet, 1 inch (9.78m), to go with a result of 13 feet, 11 inches (4.24m) in the long jump. She was 20th in the long jump.
Noah Avery was the only men's competitor for the Pios. Competing in the long jump, Avery jumped 20 feet, 6.5 inches (6.26m) to place eighth.
Lewis & Clark is scheduled to compete in two different events on May 13, the George Fox Multis and Invitational and the Portland Twilight.
