Women's Basketball Takes Down Puget Sound 75-44 on Senior Night

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's basketball team took down the Puget Sound Loggers, 75-44, on Friday night in a crucial Northwest Conference contest. The victory keeps the Pioneers in a two-way tie for first place in the Northwest Conference with one game remaining. With a win tomorrow night at Willamette the Pioneers will earn the No. 1 seed in the NWC Playoff and be named NWC Regular Season Champions.

The win improves the Pioneers to 19-5 on the season and 13-2 in conference play. The Pioneers remain tied with the George Fox Bruins a top the NWC standings. A Pioneer victory and Bruin loss tomorrow will earn the Pios the NWC Regular Season Championship outright.

However, if the Bruins win as well the two sides will be named co-champions, but the Pioneers will still earn the No. 1 seed in the tournament. A Pio loss and Bruin win tomorrow night will hand the Bruins the No. 1 seed and the Pioneers the No. 2. The Loggers fall to 18-6 overall and 11-4 in conference and are guarunteed the No. 3 seed in the playoffs.

The Pioneers return to the court on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 6 p.m. when they travel to Salem to take on the Willamette Bearcats.
