Women's hoops debuts with exhibition loss

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Ayisat Afolabi had 18 points and 16 rebounds over 26 minutes as the Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost an exhibition against NCAA Div. I Portland State, 96-69, on Sunday afternoon at Peter W. Stott Center.

Afolabi shot 5 of 14 from the floor and made 7 of 9 free throws to lead all Lewis & Clark scorers. Miyah Leith added 17 points on 8 of 17 shooting. 

Lewis & Clark played 12 different players in the game. The Pioneers were within 14 points, 50-36, at halftime and forced 18 turnovers by the home team Vikings, five fewer than they committed. The difference led to a 22-12 advantage in points off turnovers for the Pioneers.

The Pios open the regular season on Nov. 16 against Corban.
