PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers faced a tough loss against the No. 10 ranked George Fox Bruins, losing 93-44. The Pios struggled to gain offensive rhythm against a very aggressive Bruins defense, with 25 turnovers over the course of the game. The Pioneers also struggled to make shots, hitting just 16 of their 47 field goal attempts, and only one of their three point attempts. The Pios rebounded well, getting 31 rebounds to the Bruins' 24, and scoring 20 points in the paint.
The Pioneers were able to keep the score close in the first quarter, but had trouble moving the ball up the court and creating shooting opportunities. This led to a wide scoring gap for the rest of the game.
- Freshman Coco Shafer had the highest scoring game of her career as a Pioneer with three points and one assist
- Sara Hogman started her first game of the season and scored four points for the Pios
- The Pioneers outscored the Bruins in free throws, making 11 of 17 attempts
- Freshman Logan Kelly led the Pios with six rebounds
The Pioneers will host the Linfield Wildcats on Sat., Dec. 1 at 4pm.
