Pioneers struggle offensively in tough loss to George Fox

PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers faced a tough loss against the No. 10 ranked George Fox Bruins, losing 93-44. The Pios struggled to gain offensive rhythm against a very aggressive Bruins defense, with 25 turnovers over the course of the game. The Pioneers also struggled to make shots, hitting just 16 of their 47 field goal attempts, and only one of their three point attempts. The Pios rebounded well, getting 31 rebounds to the Bruins' 24, and scoring 20 points in the paint.

Freshman Jessica Cerne lead the Pioneers in points with 9, followed by senior Tori Eichten with 6. Logan Kelly led the team in rebounds while Janessa Willie led in assists.

The Pioneers were able to keep the score close in the first quarter, but had trouble moving the ball up the court and creating shooting opportunities. This led to a wide scoring gap for the rest of the game.
