FOREST GROVE, Ore. -- Entering Sunday's final round, the 25th-ranked Lewis & Clark Pioneers led four other top-25 teams at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic, and Pios senior Claire Burke led the way with an opening-round 79.
Burke finished in the top 20 with a two-day total of 79-82-161, and on Monday, was named Northwest Conference Women's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced.
The senior led Lewis & Clark's five golfers to a top-eight finish after the Pioneers shot 321-335-656.
Last weekend, Burke posted Lewis & Clark's second-best total at the Pacific Invitational with an 85-80-165. Annie McCutchan finished with a 159 to win the event and earned NWC Student-Athlete of the Week last Monday.
The Pioneers will continue fall competition on Saturday and Sunday at the Pacific Invitational.
