Clunk finishes in top 20 to open Lewis & Clark’s fall season

LAKE SPANAWAY, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers completed their first fall event, the PLU Invitational, on Sunday at Lake Spanaway Golf Course.

Sophomore Annika Clunk posted the team's best individual score, a two-day 21-over-par 165, to place 17th. It is her fourth-straight top-20 finish.

Annie McCutchan was five spots back with a 168 after back-to-back 84s. Lewis & Clark finished seventh in the team totals. Whitman was the team champion and produced the top finisher, Shiyang Fan, who shot a 1-under-par 143.

The tournament was the first for new head coach James Yen.

Tori Eichten followed her day-one 85 with a 91 on Sunday to place 33rd. Litzy Moretti finished with her second-straight 95 for a total of 190 and a 47th-place finish.

The Pioneers compete next at the George Fox Invitational on Oct. 7-8.
