TACOMA, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers (3-10-3, 1-9-2 NWC) fall to the University of Puget Sound Loggers (10-4-2, 9-1-2 NWC). The game was very aggressive while both teams had over 10 fouls each. The Loggers secured the win in the second half with getting an offensive attack against the Pioneers' defense in the second half to end the game 1-0.
The Pioneers' offense was lead by Giana Losson with three shots in the second half. The Pioneers had a total of nine shots throughout the game with the Loggers having a total of 14. Megan Sawyer led the defense for the Pioneers. The Pioneers' offense and defense both were extremely strong throughout the game which allowed the game to be fast-paced.
In the first half, the Pioneers offense was out to a great start with shots by Caroline Hennes, Ani Love, and Anna Saucedo. Megan Sawyer had a great first half with six saves against the Loggers fast-paced offense. The Pioneers' offense defended a total of eight shots by the Loggers throughout the first half.
Giana Losson and Mali PetersonWood carried the Pioneers' offense in the second half with multiple shots. Losson had three shots in the second half with PetersonWood having two corner kicks with a shot. The Pioneers went on several offensive attacks this half against the Loggers. The Pioneers' defense gave up one goal towards the end of the half. The Pioneers' offense could not strike back in time against the Loggers in time.
