HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Starting in all 19 games she played this season Mali PetersonWood capped off her senior season with a selection to the All-Northwest Conference Second Team, the conference announced on Wednesday.
PetersonWood, a psychology major from Sonora, Calif., ends her career as a Pioneer with 31 shots, 14 of them coming this season. She scored the first goal of her career this season against Fontbonne off of a penalty kick. PetersonWood also added two assists this season bringing her career total to four. One of her assists came in her second to last game, against Whitman, and helped to tie the game 1-1. The Pioneers would go on to win in double overtime, breaking a 10 game winless streak.
PetersonWood's selection to the All-NWC team gives the Pioneers a selection every year since 2008. This marks the third year in a row the Pioneers have had a defender selected to the All-NWC Second Team, with Alexa Hanson earning the title in 2017 and Isobel Fisko the year before. The Pioneers have had a defender selected to the All-NWC every season since 2012.
Lewis & Clark graduated only two seniors this season, PetersonWood and Erin Lutz. They are scheduled to return six juniors, including last year's second-team selection, Hanson, as well as eight sophomores and seven freshmen.
