PORTLAND, Ore.-- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers defeated Hardin-Simmons this Friday night sweeping them 9-0. The women have had a great start winning their first two matchups of the season.
In the singles matches, Chloe Sermet was able to win her match in two sets, both by the scores of (6-0). Out of all the sets played, Sermet had two of the five sets that the Pioneers won (6-0). Natasha Hood had one of those sets defeating her opponent (6-1, 6-0). Riley Hanks also won her match in two sets with the scores of (6-2, 6-0). Madelyn Landerfelt was last player tonight who won one of her sets (6-0), and finishing the first set (6-3). No. 50 Christine Eliazo defeated her opponent in two sets and so did Kacey Incerpi.
For the doubles matches, duo Hanks/Hood had a close match but were able to defeat Hardin-Simmons with scores of (9-8). The final set to win went to the scores of (7-3). Partners Glenna Gee-Taylor and Adrienne Fox won their match (8-3) while duo Incerpi/Eliazo also won with scores of 8-5.
The Pios will be staying at home for their next matchup against Pacific (Ore.) this upcoming Saturday Feb. 24. The match will begin at 11 a.m.
