Why Lewis & Clark?: "Before visiting Lewis & Clark, I had gone on several college tours across the country. The information that was presented seemed redundant - from endless recitations of school statistics to the drawn out history of every single campus building. As a result, the campuses felt so foreign for me. That was until I toured Lewis & Clark, where the cycle of regurgitated college facts was broken. Not only was the campus spectacular, surrounded by a lush forest with a blend of modern and quaint architecture, but students immediately acted warm and inviting towards me. And I couldn't help but notice how content and comfortable they looked, as if Lewis & Clark truly was their second home. This welcoming spirit was one of the many aspects that reaffirmed my decision to choose this liberal arts school. Furthermore, I strive to pursue a well-rounded education by attending a college that provides an ongoing learning experience and integrates the academics with the real world. I come from a high school of fewer than 440 students where I have never had more than 20 people within a class, which taught me the value of a tight community and how to work in small groups. This type of academic setting has helped me excel as a student and individual. From developing long-lasting academic relationships with my teachers to productively interacting with my peers, I decided that I wanted to mimic these valuable elements within my college experience by being a part of the Lewis & Clark community and its culture."
