McMinnville, Ore.-- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers won their first Northwest Conference match against the Linfield Wildcats in four sets (25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16).
The Pioneers had a lead the entire first set of the game which the Pioneers ended up winning by only five points. Then the Pioneers dropped the second set to the Wildcats after being up in the beginning. The Pioneers clenched the win by winning the next two sets, and earning their first conference win of the season.
Key Moments:
The Pioneers started off strong with a strong lead in the first match with kills by Kendall Malone and Casey Myszkowski in the beginning to start off their run. The Pios had numerous runs throughout this match while emphasizing the unforced errors made by Linfield.
The Pioneers ended the match with a fourth set going on numerous runs that looked very similar to the first set. Ka'anelaokapu'uwai Pakaki-Pias, and Makena Ohlmaier both had the best hitting percentage of the set, and lead the Pios on their runs within the set.
