PORTLAND, Ore. -- A thrilling comeback victory against the Austin 'Roos last Friday saw sophomore Kendall Malone earn Northwest Conference Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week, th conference office announced on Monday.
The Pioneers came back from an 11-point loss in the first set to sweep the next three sets, with Malone putting down 18 kills on .241 hitting percentage in the match. With 19 digs against the 'Roos, she chased her season high of 23 digs against Illinois Tech. With 106 kills this season, Malone leads the Pioneers in kills and the conference in kills per set (3.79).
The Pioneers play their first conference game against Willamette on Friday at home before hitting the road to take on Pacific on Saturday.
