Stacie Matz-Gordon was the Lewis & Clark head coach from 2013-2018. In total, Gordon spent seven seasons on the Pioneers coaching staff.
Matz-Gordon was named the eighth head coach in program history in July 2013 after spending two seasons on the Pioneers coaching staff, one as an assistant and another as an associate head coach.
Among Matz-Gordon’s milestones leading the program include Alexe Navarro becoming the all-time career digs leader in Lewis & Clark history. From 2013-17, Navarro totaled 1,795 digs to surpass Lou Ohki’s 1,218 from 2008-10. Navarro was named Northwest Conference Libero of the Year in 2015.
In 2014 and 2015, the Pioneers finished with back-to-back double-digit win seasons, making Matz-Gordon just the second Lewis & Clark head coach to do so since 1991. The Pios have had no fewer than two All-NWC selections in all but one of Matz-Gordon’s seasons.
Prior to Lewis & Clark, Matz-Gordon had a successful competitive career at Western Oregon for two seasons before transferring to Pacific Lutheran. While at PLU, she helped lead her team to two conference titles and NCAA Regional Tournament appearances (2006, 2007). She received All-Conference honors both years.
Matz-Gordon has coached for a multitude of volleyball programs in the Pacific Northwest in her 14 years coaching, including at Athena Volleyball Academy prior to joining the Lewis & Clark staff.
She graduated from Pacific Lutheran in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing.
